Public Consultation 

Proteus has conducted consultation programmes for more than two decades, on some highly contentious developments such as those in Greenbelt, AONB and National Parks.  Sometimes the very nature of a development requires specialist support, such as large scale renewable energy or housing schemes, or the introduction of new technology with perception issues such Energy from Waste plants. 

Key to effective consultation is not only an understanding of the issues involved and the most effective engagement techniques, but also the ability to develop trust with all stakeholders.

Key to our approach is the delivery of objective factual information. Proteus seeks genuine two-way dialogue that influences the final development ie there are material benefits for the development following consultation. On occasion we may act as mediators between organisations and host communities and stakeholders, to help re-establish dialogue when relationships have broken down.
